ABSTRACT

Literature data on some aspects of the oil pollution of the water bodies are generalized in the review paper. Issues of the oil and oil products' behavior and stability after their ingress into the water thickness, general regularities of the oil toxicity for biota, toxicity assessment and prognosis, patterns of the oil products distribution and bioaccumulation in the water bodies, ways of the oil migration in the aquatic ecosystems have been considered.
