ABSTRACT

Effect of some concentrations of the herbicide “genius” (active component − acetochlor) on juvenile Daphnia magna and Ceriodaphnia affinis in acute and chronic experiments has been studied. Vital, lethal and median concentration of the herbicide has been determined. At herbicide concentration 4 and 2 mg/dm3 C. affinis stopped reproduction at the level of the 3rd and 5th generation, accordingly. In concentration 0.01−1.00 mg/dm3 the herbicide caused suppressive effect, total number of posterity decreased by 32.6−43.5%. Concentration 0.001 mg/dm3 has been considered ineffective.
