ABSTRACT

The influence of some ecological factors (salinity, type of bottom sediments, and water velocity) on phytomicrobenthos dynamics in water bodies of various types in the Kiliya Delta of the Danube River was analyzed. It has been found that the response of benthic microalgae to changes in ecological conditions consists in the transformation of structural and functional organization of their communities, which manifests itself in the increase or decrease in the indices of species diversity, numbers and biomass, and also in changes in the complex of dominant species.
