ABSTRACT

The hydrobiological regime of the Lena river delta was studied. The species composition of phytoplankton, zooplankton, and zoobenthos was investigated. It has been found that the biomass of zoobenthos in the upper reaches of the Lena river canals was ten times lower than that registered in their lower reaches. Four complexes of species were distinguished. They were as follows: species occurring in the main riverbed of the Lena river, species found in its eastern canals, species registered in lakes, and species occurring in the northwestern canals of the Lena river delta. The number of species of hydrobionts increased in a westward direction.
