ABSTRACT

Analysis of changes in the structure of fish catches in sapropelic Lake Nero has shown the lake succession from the bream and zander type through the bream and bleak to the bream and bleakless type of water body that took place during the last three centuries because of depth decrease and overgrowing rate increase. It has been shown that the complex of anthropogenic factors had changed the natural succession course for the last 40 years and substantially influenced structural transformation of the fish population. The results of the study allowed conclusion that the structure of fish population of sapropelic Lake Nero and its fish capacity are determined not only by the abiotic lake properties, but also by migrants, which came from the Volga River (the Gor'kovskoye Reservoir).
