ABSTRACT

Dynamics of the species composition, numbers, biomass, structure of the complex of dominant species, and species diversity of phytoplankton of the Seret river and of the Ternopil reservoir were investigated. It has been found that changes in hydrobiological conditions in the "river-reservoir-river" system are responsible for non-uniform distribution of phytoplankton conditioned by the formation of ecotone zones. The highest quantitative indices of development of algae communities and their highest species diversity were observed in spring and summer.
