ABSTRACT

Results of original investigations of phytomicrobenthos of the watercourses of the Kiliya delta of the Danube River carried out in 2010-2013 are given in the paper. The species composition of benthic algae, their quantitative characteristics, seasonal and long-term dynamics of their numbers and biomass, and the complex of dominant species were analyzed. Comparative analysis of the development of benthic microalgae of the studied watercourses has shown that the minimal quantitative indices of phytomicrobenthos development were observed at high water level, whereas the maximal indices of its development - at low water level. A wide range of the fluctuations of the Shannon index of species diversity is indicative of the transformation of the monodominant structure of phytomicrobenthos into the polydominant one.
