ABSTRACT

The activity of the acid DNase and acid RNase was determined in gills and liver of the common bream and blue bream from different areas of the Rybinsk reservoir. The highest activity of nucleases in common breams was noted within the clean areas of the reservoir. The depression of the acid nucleases activity is supposed to serve as marker of the water bodies' toxic pollution. Almost complete lack of dependence between environment pollution and nucleases' activity in the blue bream complicates use of this species for biochemical indication of the water bodies' pollution.
