UNSTEADY MAGNETOHYDRODYNAMIC MIXED CONVECTIVE OSCILLATORY FLOW OF CASSON FLUID IN A POROUS ASYMMETRIC WAVY CHANNEL

ABSTRACT

A study has been carried out to analyze the effects of heat absorption, chemical reaction, and thermo-diffusion on unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) oscillatory flow of an electrically conducting Casson fluid in a porous asymmetric channel which oscillates subject to time with a constant frequency. The governing equations include the continuity, momentum, energy, and mass transfer equations which are solved analytically by using exact solution method. The features of fluid flow, heat, and mass transfer characteristics are analyzed by plotting graphs and the physical aspects are discussed in detail to interpret the effect of various significant parameters of the problem. The results indicate that solutions of the boundary layer are oscillatory type due to the orientation of the channel. It is observed that the geometric parameters of the asymmetric channel have a notable influence on the fluid flow.
