INTERACTION OF HETEROGENEOUS DETONATION WAVES WITH THE CLOUD OF INERT PARTICLES

ABSTRACT

The process of detonation in a flat channel filled with a gas suspension of fine aluminum and inert particles in oxygen is investigated numerically. The conditions of heterogeneous detonation of aluminum particles in oxygen correspond to those of Chapman−Jouguet. Two types of flow upon interaction of detonation with a cloud are revealed: continuous detonation with smaller velocity and flow with detonation collapse. The influence of the parameters of inert particles of the cloud on these conditions is found. The dependences of the detonation velocity deficit on the mass concentration and the size of the inert particles are determined.
