Steam IVirbine Condensing Heat Exchanger Improvement Methods

Analytical results concerning the possibility of increasing steam turbine heat exchanger efficiency are presented It has been revealed that power heat exchanger efficiency enhancement can be achieved mostly by means of steam side heat transfer intensification. The results obtained by the authors confirm a number of heat transfer enhancement methods for various heat exchangers such as corrugated tube application, tube system inclination, dropwise condensation and some others. After the experimental stage a number of these methods are being tested under operating conditions. For all mentioned methods of heat exchanger efficiency enhancement, mathematical and physical models that explain the mechanisms of heat transfer processes in power heat exchangers have been accomplished The report comprises practical recommendations for engineers dealing either with heat exchanger modernization in operating conditions or with the new apparatus design.
