Stochastic Heat Transfer Equation and Its Application in the Permafrost Region
ABSTRACT
Stochastic heat transfer equations are obtained and the corresponding formulas of stochastic FEM are presented. The proposed method can help to study the random variability of temperature conveniently using the first two probabilistic moments of random parameters. The random temperature field of a typical embankment in the permafrost region is investigated with both random boundary conditions and material properties are considered. Numerical results indicate the characteristics of the random temperature field and the major influence factors. The conclusions in this paper can provide necessary information for design of the embankment and other thermal control engineering in the permafrost region.
