A system of nonlinear partial differential equations is reduced to a single fourth-order ordinary differential equation using similarity transformation. The resulting boundary value problem is solved with the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and the authenticity of the solution is verified by evaluating absolute residual errors. The problem is also solved numerically using Mathematica solver NDSolve and the absolute residual errors for various parameters are obtained. The effectiveness of HPM is confirmed by comparing residual errors of analytical and numerical techniques. In addition, effects of various dimensionless parameters on the velocity profiles are studied in detail. |
