COMPARISON OF HEAT REMOVAL USING MINIATURE CHANNELS, JETS, AND SPRAYS
ABSTRACT
Advances in chip designs have made active cooling methods for heat removal from these components a necessity. Among the various cooling methodologies investigated, heat removal using miniature channels, sprays, and microjets have been shown to be the most promising. In this review paper, a experimental comparison of heat removal using small channels, sprays, and jets is presented. The process effectiveness of each of these cooling techniques and the suitability of each of these cooling methods is discussed.
