ABSTRACT

Middle-level manager selection is a common issue among organizations. Probability hesitant interval neutrosophic sets (PHINSs), which elaborate the advantages of interval number and probability multivalued neutrosophic sets, is more effectively suitable in addressing the practical middle-level manager selection than the fuzzy set. In this paper, the definition and operation laws of PHINS are first introduced. The cross entropy measure and generalized priority weighted average operator of PHINSs (GPHINSPWA) are defined, and the detailed proof of properties is provided. Moreover, on the basis of the proposed operation rules, GPHINSPWA operator, and cross entropy measures, the approach for solving issues of multicriteria group decision-making is developed. Finally, the proposed approach is applied to actual middle-level manager selection. A comparison of results between the proposed and previous approaches shows that the proposed method is practical and effective.
