TURBULENT CONCENTRATION DETERMINATION IN GAS FLOW USING MULTIPLE CCD CAMERAS

ABSTRACT

Light-scattering property of small particles has been used to measure concentration of both neutral and dense gas in turbulent continuous releases. The scattered light was acquired using two CCD cameras. We expose the complete physical framework of this technique, the link between the two camera responses and the different corrections induced for concentration measurements. Then, we present an application of this technique concerning an experimental study of the effects of obstacles on the dispersion of continuous dense gas releases. We report here mean concentration and RMS concentration fluctuations in a two-dimensional plane.
