The methodologies of jet flap computation are considered, which are based on solving the integral–differential equations, the discrete vortex method, and the method of solving the Navier−Stokes equations. The computational results of the jet flap effect on the airfoil lift coefficient, which were obtained using different methodologies, are compared with each other and with the experimental data. An analogy between jet and conventional flaps is established. The conventional flap chord is proportional to the specific impulse of the jet flap. Additionally, the problem of a screen effect on the lift of a jet-flapped airfoil is considered.
