TRANSLATIONAL NONEQUILIBRIUM THIN SHOCK LAYER ON SIMPLE BODIES

ABSTRACT

The problem of a translationally nonequilibrium (with a small deviation from the equilibrium state) hypersonic flow around simple bodies shaped as a wedge (cone) using the macro-kinetic Burnett approximation simplified within the framework of the asymptotic model of a two-layer thin viscous shock layer on finite-thickness bodies is investigated. It is shown that the considered flow in the Burnett thin shock layer is described in its main order by the Navier–Stokes version of the two-layer model of a thin shock layer.
