GLOBAL CROSS-CORRELATION OF THE WALL PRESSURE FLUCTUATIONS IN FRONT OF THE "FORWARD-FACING STEP/BACKWARD-FACING STEP" COMBINATION AND IN ITS WAKE
ABSTRACT
Laboratory parametric investigations concerning the pressure fluctuations characteristics in front of a "forward-facing step/backward-facing step" combination and in its wake and their cross-correlation were carried out. The effects of the step combination width and length (in the flow direction), the observation point shift in its wake relative to the streamline over the observation point in front of it, and flow beveling relative to this combination were studied. The pressure fluctuation characteristics in front of the forward-facing step/backward-facing step combination and in its wake were investigated in the presence of single disruptions of different lengths. It is found that this peculiarity of the forward-facing step/backward-facing step combination does not significantly affect the pressure fluctuation field correlativity in front of it and in its wake.
