Modeling of Unsteady-State Features of the Water Boundary Layer

ABSTRACT

The unsteady-state features of the thermal structure near the water-air interface are investigated with allowance for external radiation and phase transitions. The temperature distribution is obtained by numerically inverting the Laplace transform. The predicted results are compared with experimental data. It is shown that the temperature distributions may or may not exhibit inversion, depending on the meteorological conditions.
