Modeling the Supercavitation Processes

Problems on modeling the supercavitation processes in relation to the shape and dimensions of supercavities, formation and maintenance of them are considered in the article. Necessary dimensionless parameters responsible for the considered process; the cavitation number s, the Froude number Fr, and the Weber number We are established. A procedure of modeling with simultaneous maintaining similarity by the cavitation and the Froude numbers is considered. Recommendations on the scale effect reduction are given. Special issues of gas entrapment by supercavity from the two-phase flow with gas bubbles and hydro-acoustical phenomena in supercavitation are also considered in the article.
