The Effect of Fucus vesiculosus L. (Phaeophyceae) Depth of Vegetation in the Barents Sea (Russia) on Its Morphophysiological Parameters
ABSTRACT
Investigation of species composition of epiphytes and phytophages, thalus morphology, growth rate, intensity of photosynthesis, composition and ratio of photosynthetic pigments, metabolic activity of cells of brown seaweed Fucus vesiculosus, placed on depths from 0 to 15 m, was carried out. Results of the study have shown that in the absence of interspecific competition, the depth of 0.5 m is most favorable for F. vesiculosus growth in the Barents Sea.
