ABSTRACT

This paper reviews systematic compositions of microphytobenthos. Dominating algocenoses, edificated by diatoms, were marked. Their zonal, seasonal, and annual transect distribution in three vegetation belts near Big Cats village in southern Baikal were described. The most distributed algocenoses, represented by various modifications, which mainly depend on biotope diversity, hydrodynamic processes, temperature regime and growth of macrophytes were identified for each vegetation belt.
