ABSTRACT
The study of algae of mud cures has been carried out in the floodplain lakes of the Belaya River near Birsk (Bashkortostan) and at the Aznakaevsky peat bog (Tatarstan). Species composition and abundance of algae were investigated. Representatives of Bacillariophyta dominated in untapped mud, whereas in those used for procedures the dominance of Chlorophyta was registered. No algae have been found in the samples of mud sent for regeneration. Comparison was made of the species composition of phytobenthos of different mud deposits.
