Annual succession cycle of pelagic phytocenoses in estuary ecosystems of northern seas of Russia

ABSTRACT

The conceptual scheme of the annual successive cycle is formulated based on the analysis and generalization of the long-standing data on the dynamics of the taxonomic composition and quantitative indices of pelagic algocenoses of the estuary systems of the Arctic seas. Four phases are distinguished: the winter resting stage, the blooming stage of cryoflora, the spring successive cycle, and the stage of summer-autumn balanced development.
