An annotated list is provided of 21 species of aerophytic algae recovered from samples of soil, dead wood/bark, and old palm fronds collected during a survey carried out on Christmas Island in May 2017. These algae are an understudied group in the south Pacific region of the Southern Hemisphere. Cyanoprokaryota were the dominate group, represented by 11 species. In addition, 10 species of green algae were identified.
