T1 Experimental and Theoretical Study of the Ignition of the Combustible Forest Materials by a Light Flux JF Heat Transfer Research JO HTR YR 2002 FD 2002-12-01 VO 33 IS 7&8 OP 6 AB The results of experimental and theoretical study of ignition of various layers of combustible materials in a forest by a light flux are given. It is established that three regimes are possible depending on the light flux density: smouldering, gas-phase ignition, and carbonization. The values of the time of gaseous ignition have been determined numerically and are in good agreement with the experimental data.
