As more children with cerebral palsy live into adulthood, this transition period can also be a challenge for their parents, the school and the teen as this maybe a new unchartered experience not only for the teen but for those working with the teen. This thorough review of the literature explores issues specific to the adolescent with cerebral palsy in the areas of physical, mental and behavioral health, development, educational, policy and social systems to assist in optimizing transition into adulthood.
