T1 Evaluation of Heat Loads in Graphite Divertor Plates Acted by a Magnetized Electron Flux JF Heat Transfer Research JO HTR YR 2002 FD 2002-12-01 VO 33 IS 7&8 OP 9 AB The results on the energy contribution by magnetized electrons into graphite divertor plates and on the development of a heat conduction flux are presented. The Monte Carlo model for simulating the energy contribution is discussed. The energy contribution profile calculated using the Monte Carlo model is taken as the initial condition for solving the heat conduction equation which is solved numerically by employing the second-order accuracy predictor-corrector scheme. The results of simulation allow estimation of the thermal loads on the graphite divertor surface and evaluation of the erosion rate due to thermal stresses and strains which result in cracking of the graphite and removal of granules from its surface.
