This paper examines and optimizes the tensile strength of the friction stir (FS) welded aluminum matrix hybrid composites reinforcement using the Taguchi L27 orthogonal array. The composites (AA7010–SiC–Al2O3) reinforced with 10% silicon carbide and 10% aluminum oxide through stir casting technique are FS welded and investigated to evaluate the effect of friction stir welding (FSW) process parameters such as tool rotational speed (TRS), weld speed (WS), and axial force (AF). A tensile test is carried out for the FS welded plates. The influence of the FSW process parameters on the tensile strength is determined using the analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results from Taguchi design indicate that the tensile strength is influenced by all the three factors considerably and the tool rotational speed has a higher impact than the other parameters.
