Frequency Dependences of Dissipative Losses in Multimode Waveguides

The Maxwell equations are analyzed to study the longitudinal component of the Hertz vector in a segment of a microwave transmission line of finite conductivity. General expressions for the specific power loss in the waveguide walls depending on frequency have been derived, based on the solution for all types of rectangular and circular regular waveguides and arbitrary wave modes. Specific areas on the waveguide surface have been found where the attenuation is but slightly dependent on frequency.
