The influence of random volume irregularities on the spectrum of a quasi-optical cylindrical cavity resonator was studied experimentally in the millimeter-wave band. The data obtained agree well with the spectral statistical theory of a cavity resonator with random imperfections that was developed in the previous paper. Experimental results confirm that the main mechanism of this influence is an intermode scattering leading to the frequency shift and widening of resonance lines. According to the theory, the scattering reaches a maximum value when the frequency interval between the adjacent resonant lines is minimal. The solitary lines are almost not changing under action of small imperfections, when the distance between the nearest neighbors is wide. Selective influence of imperfections, results in the resonator spectrum sparseness. It has been established that both the regular and the chaotic properties take place in the quasi-optical resonator having a disordered dielectric filling. Basing on the experimental results obtained, the influence of random imperfections on the electron spectrum of closed nanoelectron structures (quantum dots and quantum billiards) can be simulated.
