要約

We report on morphology and optical properties of Cd0.55Mn0.45Te substrates annealed in the air at 650 °C. The AFM images reveal the presence of roughly pyramid-shaped grains with the size of the base of about 2-5 μm, formed by the smaller nano-scale pyramidal formations with characteristic dimensions of 10-100 nm. The nano-scale surface structuring introduces quantum confinement effects that influences optical parameters of the material, creating a wide band of photoluminescence located at the energies of 2.2-3.2 eV. The observed decrease of absorption intensity and band shift towards larger wavelengths can be explained by simultaneous action of light absorption and dispersion involving micrometer-size pyramid surface formations.
