Theory of Cylindrical Transmission-Type TE01p-Cavity Resonator with Metallodielectric Filling
要約
Properties are investigated of transmission-type piecewise-homogeneous axially-symmetrical TE01p-cavity with the dense grating consisting of conducting rings. Dispersion equation, equation for determining of generalized transmission matrix and complex eigenfrequencies are obtained from rigorous and equivalent boundary condition. Estimation of dissipative and radiation loss is made based on energy relations with the use of perturbation theory. It is shown that, in the absence of the effect of field concentration in the small-radius central rod, the insertion of an annular grating into peripheral region increases the Q-factor of the cavity. A relationship is established among the resonant frequency, the Q-factor, and the permittivity of the central rod. Taking into account of the coupling between the cavity and feeding waveguides, as well as the raised Q-factor of the cavity, lead to the reduced technological and methodical errors of the permittivity measurement as compared with the model of an isolated cavity without the annular grating. It seems promising to use this structure for the dielectric spectroscopy of high-loss substances (water solutions of biomolecules) as well as a mode and frequency selector, a base element of multisection filters, discriminators, phase shifting systems and so on.
