Radar Investigation of Spatial Structure if the Quasi 2-Day Wind Velocity oscillations in the Region of Mesopause and Lower Thermosphere

Analysis of the dynamic processes investigation results obtained at different observation points (Kharkov, Magadishu, Khabarovsk, Molod'ozchnaya station, and others) has shown that perturbations with the quasi 2-day-cycle are global in nature. The paper presents a structure of the 2-day oscillation of wind velocity for Mogadishu (February-March, 19870), altitude-seasonal structure of quasi 2-day oscillations of zonal wind velocity for Kharkov in 1987-88 and 1990, and altitude-temporal structure of 2-day oscillations with an abnormally high amplitude that was recorded in Kharkov, Obninsk during coordinated measurements in July-August, 1998. The paper gives a description and basic performance features of the meteor radar facilities for investigation of atmosphere dynamic parameters at altitudes of 80−100 km.
