The steel structure tower of an offshore wind turbine has a limited service life due to its vulnerability to a gale and environmental corrosion. This paper proposes a new composite wind turbine tower structural solution. The simplified mechanical model of the composite material tower of the wind turbine is given, the differential equation of the boundary-value problem of the laminated composite conical shell is established, and the solving method of static, dynamic, and linear bucking stability is discussed. On the basis of theoretical analysis, this paper puts forward the design method and solution, and the processes ply design in the composites module ACP (ANSYS 14.5/Workbench/ACP). By optimizing the design of the stack laminates parameters, the finite element model of dynamic and static mechanics of tower under actual working conditions is modeled in ANSYS Workbench software, and the mechanical properties of the tower are calculated and optimized, and then the results are compared with those of the traditional steel wind turbine tower for taking 2-MW wind turbine as a research object. By calculating and analyzing, this paper verifies the feasibility of the method used and composite tower structure design, and provides an important reference and way for solving the design, manufacturing, installation, operation, and maintenance of a wind turbine tower.
