The test responses of Lepidium sativum L. to the toxic influence of the water of small rivers of the town of Chernivtsi in the places of sewage release were compared and analyzed. The following indices were taken into account: energy of seed germination, germinating capacity, and the length of the main root. The most dangerous sources of surface waters contamination were revealed.
