Results of long-term studies on the content of ¹³⁷Cs in the water and suspended matter of the Danube River are given in the paper. The average per month and the average per year concentrations of ¹³⁷Cs, and also its monthly and annual transfer through the Danube River delta, were calculated. Long-term tendencies of contamination and ecological periods of ¹³⁷Cs half-decay in the water and suspended matter were assessed. The coefficients of ¹³⁷Cs distribution between solid and liquid phases of migration were calculated. Additional contamination conditioned by industrial activities (spills from nuclear power plants and radiation accidents) was revealed and assessed. Results of the study can be used in calculating parameters of ¹³⁷Cs migration over food links, and also in calibrating the models of ¹³⁷Cs river transport.
