The Effect of Combustion Dynamics on the Formation of Pollutant Emissions by Co-Firing the Wood Biomass with Gaseous Fuel
要約
The main objective of recent study is to provide a clean and effective burnout of a renewable fuel (wood pellets) by co-firing the wood fuel with a fossil fuel propane. The effect of swirl stabilized flame dynamics on the wet wood fuel burnout and composition of pollutant emissions is studied and analyzed at different rates of propane co-firing and swirling air supply by altering the flow field and, hence, re-circulation of hot active flame species back to incoming reactants -flow of volatiles, released during wood fuel gasification. The results show that the swirl enhanced recirculation provides the formation of the low-velocity flame region with enhanced mixing of the flame compounds, while increasing the rate of propane co-firing at the air excess provides the enhanced burnout of the volatiles.
