The dynamic stability of a (high temperature super conductor) HTSC-sample in a pool of liquid nitrogen under stepwise current inputs has been experimentally studied. The estimation of minimum nonstationary critical heat flux was conducted. In the event of a heat transfer crisis fast temperature rise would occur and thermal cracking of the sample due to large temperature gradient would result. Instabilities were observed in the heat transfer associated with the small thermal disturbances. These unstable heat transfer regimes are accompanied by large temperature overshoots.
