Limit Superheating of Solutions in the Region of Negative Pressures

The dependence of the temperature of limit superheating of water-acetone, water-isobutyl alcohol, acetone-n-hexane, and acetone-ethyl alcohol solutions on the pressure in the region of negative pressures to −10 MPa has been studied experimentally. The dependences of the temperature of the limit superheating of the liquid under study on the negative pressure value are obtained. Nucleation frequencies from 1024 to 1026 were implemented in the experiments. The experiments have shown that in the case of organic liquid solutions the boundary of the attainable superheatings Tsup(P)J passes constantly from the region of positive pressures to the region of negative pressures and practically coincides with the homogeneous nucleation theory calculations. Earlier, this was observed in experiments with pure organic liquids. In water solutions, the dependences Tsup(P)J bend to the side of a smaller limit superheating temperature in transition from positive to negative pressures in the region of water concentrations exceeding the concentration of an azeotropic solution.
