NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF MIXED CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER IN A TRIANGULAR CAVITY WITH MOVING WALLS
要約
In this paper, a mixed convection (combined natural and forced convection) flow inside a triangular cavity has been studied numerically. The flow field and heat transfer inside the cavity are characterized by various parameters such as the Prandtl number, type of temperature variations on the cold and hot walls, and the geometry of the cavity. Furthermore, mixed convection flow can contribute (assist, resist, or do both at different parts of the flow field) to the heat transfer process. In the present study, the simulations were performed for laminar and steady state flow. The main results for different boundary conditions with displacement of different walls revealed that, when there is an assisting mixed convection (dominant natural convection with favorable forced convection and vice versa), the highest value of the Nusselt number and consequently, the highest heat transfer rate are obtained. Additionally, the location and direction of a moving wall can be considered as an appropriate control parameter to achieve desirable results.
