EFFECTS OF ORIENTATION AND CUO/WATER NANOFLUID ON THE PERFORMANCE OF A TWO-PHASE CLOSED THERMOSYPHON
要約
A nanofluid is a suspension of ultrafine particles in a conventional base fluid that significantly enhances the heat transfer characteristics. Results of 30 experiments performed using the working fluids (DI water, CuO nanoparticles in DI water), five orientations (horizontal, 30, 45, and 60 deg, and vertical), and three heat input rates are reported. Nanoparticles of CuO (40 nm) with a concentration of 60 mg/L were used. The orientation range 45−60 deg, and 50 deg in particular, are optimum for nanofluid. Sixty degrees is found optimal for DI water. The effect of orientation on the thermal performance is found significant.
