COMPARISON BETWEEN CLASSICAL AND THREE-COLOR PIV IN A WAKE FLOW
要約
The image analysis of flow tracers, particle image velocimetry, or PIV, is performed with two methods: classical, based on the individuation of successive positions of tracers on multiex-posed frames, and a new method in which tracer particle displacements are identified by means of two dots connected by a streakline. Such a pattern is obtained by overlapping, in the investigated section, three sheets of different colors. Many advantages are retained: simple displacement detection, direction identification, ambiguity elimination, and high dynamical and angular ranges. Classical and new methods are compared in the near wake of a car model into a water channel flow.
