A NOVEL TECHNIQUE FOR FABRICATION OF NANOFLUIDIC DEVICES WITH POLYMER FILM FORMED BY PLASMA POLYMERIZATION
要約
The charge transport properties of poly(ethylene terephthalate) and polypropylene track membranes modified by pyrrole plasma have been studied. It was found that polymer deposition on the surface of these membranes results in the creation of nanofluidic diodes that possess a conductivity asymmetry in electrolyte solutions − a rectification effect similar to that of a p-n junction in semiconductors. This effect is caused by significant reduction of the pore diameter in the plasma polymer layer that results in changing the pore geometry, as well as existence of an interface between two layers of different nature. Such devices can be used for directed ion transfer.
