We present results of an experimental evaluation of implementation effectiveness of low-temperature air plasma of an atmospheric pressure arc discharge for treatment of third-degree skin burns in laboratory rats. Thermal skin burns were produced by our own original method, and efficacy was assessed daily. We found that the use of low-temperature air plasma of an atmospheric pressure arc discharge permits accelerated final wound healing by 49% (p < 0.05) and reduces incidence of purulent inflammation by 45.5% (p < 0.01).
