OPTIMIZING CERAMIC KILN OPERATION UTILIZING INDUSTRIAL GAS TURBINE EXHAUST GASES
要約
A novel approach regarding the integration of co-generation of heat and power within the ceramics industry, where high-temperature heating is employed in the operation of heavy-clay and tile kilns, has been examined. To evaluate this approach, a theoretical, computational, and experimental investigation was conducted on the re-use of low O2 content exhaust gases, generated from industrial gas turbine CHP sets, as an oxidizer for the firing of material inside industrial kilns. The kilns house an array of burners, designed to operate with simulated gas turbine exhaust oxidizer gases, while enhancing flame stability and reducing NOx formation. The combined results were interpreted in terms of future design requirements for burners and ceramic industry processes employed in this type of work.
