要約

A comparative assessment of the biochemical composition of Spirulina platensis (Nordst.) Geitler has been carried out using biomass obtained from both a natural reservoir and from artificial cultivation in open ponds and in a closed-type photobioreactor. The total protein content was lower in all artificially grown algae samples compared to the natural sample. There was a decrease in the number of individual amino acids (serine 5 times, histidine 3 times, aspartic acid and proline 2 times). The essential amino acids differed significantly in the content of methionine, valine and leucine. Phycocyanin content was higher in biomass samples from natural reservoirs and photobioreactors, whilst phycoerythrin and alloficocyanin were higher in algae biomass grown in open artificial ponds. Spirulina platensis biomass grown in the photobioreactor had a higher content of chlorophyll a and carotenoids than other samples, probably due to more intensive artificial light in comparison to the natural reservoirs. The significant differences found in the biochemical composition of S. platensis biomass indicate the importance of a careful selection of growing conditions, for obtaining a higher content of pigments from its biomass for further industrial use.
