The terahertz laser waveguide resonators use internal mirrors and, at availability of the curvature therein, higher waveguide modes may exert a strong influence upon the type of the output radiation. However, the influence of quadrature phase aberrations upon the characteristics of radiation of the waveguide quasi-optical resonators is not studied in the reference literature practically. It is known only the analytical consideration of electrodynamics of the waveguide resonators in the case of small curvature of the mirrors. This paper represents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of the influence exerted by the spherical mirrors of an arbitrary curvature radius of the HCN laser dielectric waveguide resonator (λ = 0.337 mm) upon the power loss and mode composition of the radiation. Availability of three typical domains of geometrical parameters - the waveguide, the quasi-optical and the unstable ones - is demonstrated. The obtained results allow using them at selection of geometrical parameters of the laser resonant systems; they can also be applied to optimization of power characteristics of the terahertz waveguide lasers.
