The resulting eigenvalue problem is solved using the Galerkin technique. It is seen that when the variable gravity parameter is positive, an increase in the vertical throughflow in the direction of the gravity vector always stabilizes the system. Further, an increase in the throughflow in the direction opposing gravity delays the onset of convection when the variable gravity parameter is negative. %8 2002-06-01
